BIRDING FESTIVAL - BIRDING DEATH’S DOOR

EXHIBIT: WENCE AND SANDRA MARTINEZ

Fairfield Center for Contemporary Art, Sturgeon Bay
On Thursday, May 15, the Fairfield Art Center will open its Summer season with the exhibition Wence & Sandra Martinez: "Presence", in the first floor main gallery. There will be a free reception at 6:30 pm with wine and hors d’oeuvres. "Presence" incorporates several pieces of new work created this past winter in Teotitlan Del Valle in Mexico. PENINSULA STATE PARK SEGWAY PT TOUR

Peninsula State Park, Fish Creek
Looking for a unique way to see the sights of Door County? How about on the two wheels of a Segway Personal Transporter with Segway the Door Tours? After a 1/2 hour training on the Segway PT, we will glide up and down hills through Peninsula State Park for about 1 1/2 hours. 46th ANNUAL JURIED ART EXHIBIT

Francis Hardy Center for the Arts, Ephraim
The Art Center celebrates its 46th year of presenting exhibits at the Hardy Gallery in Ephraim’s landmark graffiti-covered Anderson Warehouse. ANNUAL RIDGES RIDE FOR NATURE

Looking for a way to enjoy the splendor of early summer in Door County? Interested in helping to support the mission of The Ridges Sanctuary? You can do both by participating in the Ride for Nature. The Ride is an annual bicycle tour on Door County's scenic secondary roads, sponsored by The Ridges Sanctuary with support from Door County Memorial Hospital and Main Street Market. Tour routes of 25 km, 50 km and 100 km take riders through the heart of the peninsula, and proceeds from the Ride support the Ridges. Info: 920-839-2802.

Door County Bluegrass camp will focus on building instrumental skills for the experienced beginner through the advanced player. Each day will include morning and afternoon classes on your instrument, plus a variety of workshops including a “roots” class to listen to and discuss the evolution of bluegrass, music theory, harmony singing, chart reading and writing, tab, instrument repair and maintenance, folk, round, square, contra dance, yodeling, story telling with music and of course jam sessions.  After supper, student group performances, followed by some late night picking.
