Each day will include morning and afternoon classes on your instrument, plus a variety of workshops including a “roots” class to listen to and discuss the evolution of bluegrass, music theory, harmony singing, chart reading and writing, tab, instrument repair and maintenance, folk, round, square, contra dance, yodeling, story telling with music and of course jam sessions. Recording Artist, Arden of Eden To Release New CD.
Arden of Eden to release new eco-friendly CD, “Love Street,” in Door County. Mary Arden Collins is set to release her new full length album “Love Street” in Door County, Wisconsin on August 29, 2008, under the new artist name, ARDEN of EDEN. Highlights of the album include a guest appearance by three time Grammy Award winner, Keb’ Mo’, as well as songs featured in multiple films & network TV shows. Collins is joined for this special concert release event, by cellist Hans Christian.
Born in Arden, Delaware, Collins became a fixture on the music scene several years ago. After releasing two albums on her own, Collins decided it was time for a new adventure. Keeping the pop melodies and poetic lyrics intact, ARDEN of EDEN songs have been featured in several television shows including Joan of Arcadia and Criminal Minds and films, such as The Thing About My Folks and Solstice. WSTW Music Director, Mike Rossi, says of the new record, “[Arden of Eden] serves us strikingly honest slices of life and love, with a voice that glows like warm honey.”
Blues guitarist, Keb’ Mo’ joins ARDEN of EDEN on the song, “Mississippi”. Collins toured with Keb’ Mo’ in the past. “When I wrote this song, I knew he’d be a perfect fit,” she said. When asked about working with Collins on the song, his demands were simple. “I need a pumpkin pie, a potted plant, and a live chicken,” said Mo’. Collins delivered by baking a homemade pie from her mom’s family recipe. Fortunately he didn’t hold her to the chicken request.
The new CD “Love Street” was produced by Grammy nominated producer Bill Drescher and Cameron Stone (Linkin Park, Rihanna, Jewel), featuring Mary Arden Collins on vocals/guitar, Mark Gorman on bass and Jay Bellerose on drums (Robert Plant, Allison Krauss, Beck). Helping the environment is a priority, with CD packaging that is made entirely from recycled materials and printed with vegetable based inks.
ARDEN of EDEN’s music is a combination of pop and indie rock, with a hint of blues and world, creating a fresh, organic sound. Hans Christian is a resident of Door County and is a world renowned cellist.
“Love Street,” is set to release on Feelin’ Groovy Records at the Door County Outpost on August 29, 2008 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are available at the door for $10. The Door County Outpost is located at Hwy. 42 at Rainbow Ridge Ct., Egg Harbor WI 54209.
